Lebanon’s Inflation Rate increased 15.69% YOY by July 2026

According to the Central Administration of Statistics (CAS), Lebanon’s annual inflation rate dropped to 15.69% in July 2026, down from 17.25% in June 2026. This slight decline in inflation reflects easing price pressures in key sectors alongside weaker consumer demand amid the economic uncertainty stemming from the renewed Israel-Hezbollah conflict. Nevertheless, inflation remains elevated as ongoing security concerns continue to weigh on economic activity.

Notably, “Recreation, amusement and culture” which accounts for 2.4% of the Consumer Price Index (CPI) increased by 43.2% Year-Over-Year (YOY). Education (6.6% of CPI) rose by 35.72% YOY, while Old Rent (0.36% of CPI) saw a 30.55% YOY increase during the same period.

The “Food and non-alcoholic beverages” category which accounts for 20% of the consumer price index (CPI), rose by 14.49% YOY, reflecting continued price pressures in essential consumer goods, despite a 0.73% month-over-month decline in the category during July 2026.

On a monthly basis, Consumer Price Index (Inflation) decreased between June 2026 and July 2026 by 0.03%.
